Abstract:Shatang Lantern tangerine, a novel Citrus reticulata Blanco cultivar, selected from bud sport of Shatang tangerine. This cultivar showcased robust tree posture, vigorous growth, abundant branching, prolific flowering, and efficient fruit setting. The average weight of fruit was 41.60 g. The fruit was flattened spherical in shape with a transverse diameter of 43.64 mm, longitudinal diameter of 30.31 mm, and a fruit shape index of 0.69. The fruit peel was orange-red in color and easy to peel. The soluble solid content (w) was 13.80% , the total sugar content of 10.80 g · 100 g- 1 , the total acid content was 0.39% and the vitamin C content was 30.30 mg·100 g-1 . Shatang Lantern tangerine ripeped 25 days earlier than the common Shatang tangerine. Genetic analysis using SSR markers revealed discernible DNA-level distinctions between Shatang Lantern tangerine and common Shatang tangerine.
