1. Open Access: Journal of Fruit Science flipped to open-access in 2022. Once published, all articles shall be immediately and permanently available for readers to read and download free of charge under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. For technical reasons, journal articles published before 2022 are not open access. The full text of articles published in 2019-2021, and abstracts of some articles published in 2014-2018 can be read on the journal's website free of charge.

2. Reuser's License: For all open access article published on this website, permitted third party reuse of the articles published by the journal is defined by the following user license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows reusers to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format. The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as the license terms below are followed: reusers must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Reusers may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the use. Reusers may not use the material for commercial purposes. If reusers remix, transform, or build upon the material, they may not distribute the modified material. Copyright: All authors agree to sign the "Copyright License Agreement" to license the copyright of this submitted article to the Editorial Office of Journal of Fruit Science, including but not limited to the rights of publication, compilation, distribution, reproduction in print and electronic formats, translation, and communication through information network, for use throughout the world. The authors retain the copyright. Once the article is published, author(s) will receive a one-off payment for the use of the article copyright (including print, CD, online and other editions). 4. Archive: Since 2014 all journal articles have been digitally archived and can be searched from the journal website. In order to ensure data security, all information has also been backed up in the editorial office. Before 2014, the hard and soft copy of each issue of the journal had been kept in the editorial office for archiving. In addition, other relevant materials are also kept by the editorial office, such as supplementary information and forms provided by the authors. Journal of Fruit Science has joined the digital journal databases indexed by CNKI and WANFANG DATA. The papers published by Journal of Fruit Science will also be included by those databases in full text.  The third-party platforms from which the full text of this journal can be downloaded also include Renhe, Weipu, Superstar, Longyuan, Bokan, China Post Reading, Changjiang Library, CSCD, and China Agricultural Journal Integrated Service Platform.

5. Data Sharing: The authors are encouraged to publish or share their research data whenever appropriate. Data sharing is helpful for experiment repeating and data reuse. The data for sharing may include original data, observation records, experimental results, etc. Software, code, models, algorithms, protocols, methods and other useful materials could be upload to an accessible third-party repository as long as a proper citation or link given in the article.
