As the rapid increase of labor cost and attention to food safety and quality,the conventional cul-tivation system is being challenged. Based on its unique growing and bearing characters,our many years' exploration and practice,the historical lessons,and the domestic and foreign advanced techniques,weproposed a next generation cultivation system for Chinese jujube(Ziziphus jujuba Mill.). The new systemhas preliminary practiced in Xinjiang and Hebei successfully. This paper outline the basic points of thenew cultivation system,general target and the ten key techniques including planting at proper location,selection of excellent cultivar,keeping big line space and small tree space,simplifying tree form,herb-age interplanting and free-ranging,integrating irrigation and fertilization,green plant protection,yieldcontrol,scientific harvesting,and mechanized operations. The implementation effect in Xinjiang was out-lined and the future prospect was forecasted.
