Abstract:Lignin is a natural organic compound formed from the thickening of plant secondary cell walls. It plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of plant cell wall structure, strengthening plant mechanical support and protecting plants from infecting pathogens. The color of pear peel is an important indicator for evaluating the value of a fruit. The accumulation of lignin is closely related to the onset of pear brown peel.In this paper, the research progress in lignin synthesis pathway and the mechanism to regulating pear brown skin traits are reviewed, and the main problems in the disclosing the mechanism of lignin synthesis pathway and regulation of brown pear formation are discussed, and the main research fields in the future are proposed.
