Abstract:Long bofeng No.1 is an early-season, high-yield and high-oil walnut. The seeding were selected from the ‘Longnan spike walnut’ group. It was initially selected in 2011 for its extremely high yield and spike-shaped fruit. In 2016, it was selected as the superior line and temporarily named as 'GanguDui Spike '. In 2017-2023, re-tests were carried out in Wudu, Chengxian and other places in Longnan City, and the comprehensive characters were excellent. In December 2023, it was granted the Plant Variety Rights by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and named as 'Long bofeng No. 1'.This species is a deciduous tree with medium body, semi-open tree posture, natural semi-circular crown. Mixed buds are round, male flower buds are bare buds, cylindrical, scaly. Odd pinnate compound leaves, compound leaves are 47.3cm long, compound petiole is 27.42cm long, the number of leaflets is 7-11, more than 9; leaflets are long oval, 17.18cm long, 7.85cm wide, 0.26mm thick; leaf surface dark green, leaf tip slightly pointed, entire. Most of the fruit is spike-shaped fruit, round fruit, fruit surface without hair, green, fruit surface with yellow-white fruit dots, more dense.The fruit shape is round, the weight of fruit is from 10.6 g to 12.7 g, the weight of nucleolus is from 5.8 g to 8.1 g, the shell thickness is from 0.94 mm to 1.15 mm, and the kernel yield is from 55.0% to 63.6%. The fruit shell is smooth, thelongitudinal diameter is from 33.8mm to 35.3mm, the transverse diameter is from 30.1mm to 33.6mm, and the side diameter is from 31.0mm to 35.2mm. The suture is flat and tightly combined.The kernel is full, light yellow, oily flavor, no astringency. The content of fat 68.6%, the content of protein 17.3%. Quality is excellent.The tree germinates in middle March , the male flowers in full bloom in late March, the female flowers in full bloom in early April, the fruits mature in early September, and the leaves in late November In Wudu, Gansu Province.'Long bofeng No. 1 'showed resistance to Xanthomonas arboricola, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Brown apical necrosis. The tree has strong drought and barren tolerance. The tree of ‘Long bofeng N0.1’ is suitable for the planting of Qinba mountainous areas and areas with similar site conditions. It can be planted productively in Longnan, Gansu Province. this variety can bear fruits next year after planted, has high yield potential. The average yield of 666.7 m2 in the fourth and fifth years after grafting is 188.32 kg and 230.12 kg respectively. 'Long baofeng No. 1 'can be planted after the grafted seedlings drop leaves in autumn to before the soil freezes or after the soil thaws in spring to before the grafted seedlings germinate. Plant row spacing in plain land is generally (7 m~ 8m) × (7 m~ 8m), and the planting density in hilly and mountainous areas is (5 m~ 6m) × (6 m~ 7 m). Cave-like soil preparation is often used, and the size of the planting hole is 1.0 m × 1.0 m × 1.0 m.
