Fruit scientific research in New China in the past 70 years:Banana

Abstract: In this article,we review the industrial development and scientific research of banana in China since the founding of the People's Republic of China. This paper systematically introduces the research progress and achievements of China's banana,including banana germplasm introduction,new variety selection,pest and disease control,cultivation and fertilization,mechanized harvesting as well as postharvest preservation. It also puts forward the key issues and research directions in the banana industry and technology development in the future.
