Abstract：The frost freezing damage during pear blooming period commonly occurs in northern China and causes certain injury to different extents yearly and even severe loss in a few years. Based on the current literature and investigations on frost freezing damage in pears by our research term, a review is presented of the general situation of frost damage, frost type, onset condition, frozen flower and fruit symptoms, influencing factors, pathways to prevent and control the frost injury as well as orchard management after frost freezing, so as to provide valuable reference for further studies and practical guidance.
