【Objective】To investigate the anatomic characteristics and development of adventitious roots during tissue culture and cutting propagation in peach(Prunus persica L.)rootstocks.【Method】‘Zhong Tao Kang Zhen 1'shoots from tissue culture and cutting propagation were used as the experimental materials. The changes of morphology and anatomy were observed with paraffin method during adventitious root development after rooting treatments.【Results】1) There was no latent root primordium in tissue culture shoots and cuttings, but lots of adventitious root primordium developed after rooting treatments both in micropropagation and cutting propagation. 2) After rooting culture, the adventitious root primordium arose from the cortex, phloem, xylem and callus cells in cuttings. 3) Some adventitious roots had no stele in the cortex, the others had couple of steles and some steles connected with stem.【Conclusion】The adventitious root primordium of‘Zhong Tao Kang Zhen 1'was induce-to-root type and the development position of adventitious root belonged to multiple sites.
