【Objective】The objective of this study was to estimate the genome size of wild strawberry species.【Method】The genome size of six wild strawberry species were measured by flow cytometry, using Arabidopsis thaliana as an internal reference.【Result】The results showed that Cx-values are(274±3.80)Mb for Fragaria nilgerrensis,(268±3.73)Mb for F. pentaphylla(red fruit type),(258±5.40)Mb for F.pentaphylla(white fruit type),(245±3.28)Mb for F. moupinensis,(241±4.28)Mb for F. mandschurica,(231±3.19)Mb for F. vesca and(230±2.83)Mb for F. viridis.【Conclusion】The results of this study provide a basis for future research of genome evolution and the establishment of genomic library in Fragaria.
