Citrus Huanglongbing research based on molecular biology techniques

Huanglongbing(HLB,yellow shoot disease)is devastating citrus production,which resultedin research interest worldwide. This disease is putatively caused by“Candidatus Liberibacter spp.”,anuncultured,gram-negative,phloem-limited bacterium. With the rapid development of molecular biologytechniques,genomic sequences of“Candidatus Liberibacter spp.”and citrus are available. Based on thisbackground,we reviewed the molecular epidemiology,genomics,transcriptome,proteomics,molecularmechanism of pathogenicity and resistance,and controlling methods in the recent 5 years. Future progno-ses of research fields for citrus Huanglongbing were also suggested.
