【Objective】To determine whether host-plant volatiles could synergize the female sex phero-mone of oriental fruit moth,Grapholita molesta(Busck).【Methods】The effects of host-plant volatiles onmale G. molesta response to sex pheromone-baited trap were studied in pear orchard. The volatiles com-pounds,(Z)-3-hexenyl acetate combined with synthetic sex pheromone lure of G. molesta in traps wastested.【Results】The results showed, the most male moths were captured in traps baited with the phero-mone lure combined with the dose of 30 μg(Z)-3-hexenyl acetate, while males were not captured in trapsbaited only with(Z)-3-hexenyl acetate.【Conclusion】It appeared that(Z)-3-hexenyl acetate could act assex pheromone synergist to enhance the male G. molesta attraction in pheromone traps.
