Abstract: 【Objective】Peach tree is not resistant to flooding among fruit trees, and it is important to study the physiological response of the peach trees to water- logging.【Methods】The physiological responses were researched by the application of salicylic acid(SA) at different timing under the water- logging stress.【Results】Results showed that under the water-logging stress, the Pn,Tr,Gs,Ci and the root activity decreased, the contents of proline and MDA in leaf increased, and the alcohol dehydrogenase activity in root and leaf as well as the POD activity in leaf were higher. Spraying SA on young peach trees under the water-logging stress increased the root activity, the contents of proline in leaf, the activities of alcohol dehydrogenase in leaf and root, and both POD and CAT activities in leaf obviously increased in a short time. The photosynthetic characteristics were improved by spraying SA. While the content of MDA in leaf was obviously decreased after spraying SA on the first day of water-logging(L1).【Conclusion】The application of SA on young peach tree can increase the resistance to water-logging,protect the cell membrane of the root and leaf, and improve the photosynthetic capacity and root activity especially on the first day after water-logging.
